A cloudy day is perfect for blogging

After a short blogging hiatus due to work load and illness, i’m happy to announce that we’re back and would like to re-introduce our label to those checking in on a long awaited up date and also to those visiting for the first time. So here, below is an extended excerpt from an interview i recently gave:

About Run Wild Horses style
For the most part the Run Wild Horses style is know of "modern vintage". I take vintage and vintage reproduction materials and re-work them into modern, fresh and unique designs.
I draw inspiration from the materials themselves. I spend many hours searching markets, vintage and ops shops and online looking for unique vintage components, and will often sit on the floor with all my boxes and containers of parts and bring the pieces together at that tine, rather than planning out a collection from sketches and trying to find the materials after. When working with vintage materials you need to have some flexibility with your designs because there is no guarantee that you will find the piece your looking for or need to finish the design.
Recently i began to focus more and more on the materials used allowing the designs to create a story, my one creative interpretation of whatever ever theme i happen to be working in at that time.

Run Wild Horses Turns 2!

This week marks the 2nd Birthday of Run Wild Horses....WOW, i can believe it. The time has just flown by. We've been having the most wonderful summer. I spent the New Years in Perth. It was my first trip to WA and i just loved every second of it. Here are some of my favorite sights.

Hidden Love Letters for Valentines Day

With Valentine's day only a few weeks away i thought it would be a fitting time to introduce you to my new collection of "Hidden Love Letter" Locket Necklace. Each necklace features this uber cube little envelope charm with flap that opens up (like a real envelope would!!!). Inside the envelope is hidden a secret brass love letter with the words "i love you" embossed on the front.
I even have one in french that reads "c'est la vie"....How sweet!!!

"i love you" Necklace comes in gold, silver and bronze tone and the "c'est la vie" necklace comes in bronze tone only. Priced between $30-$35 and now in stock.

Happy New Year

Happy New Year to everyone, we trust you all had a wonderful and joyous Christmas and holiday period.

The last 2 months of 2008 proved to be shear madness. It has been near impossible to complete all orders and service every customer such has been the overwhelming response to my design, not to mention our first major magazine feature, the current edition of FRANKIE magazine and attracted a flood of sales and enquirers, I want to take this opportunity to thank everyone for there understanding during this busy time. Now that the New Year has come and things have slowed a little, I can finally breathe again.

So what’s new for 2009? Well RUN WILD HORSES officially turns 2, I can’t believe it, once a weekend hobby, a cure for boredom and to silence that nagging creative voice inside my head, has now become a well established label (mostly with me sitting in the back seat, belt firmly fastened, holding on tight and enjoying the ride.), and on this point I must say a massive thank you to all my wonderful stockists who boarded the Run Wild Horses express in the first 18 months (prior to my move to Gippsland) and are still with me, it’s been a challenging ride, mostly in the dark without head lights, in the rain on a oil slicked road. But now that we are established in our cute little studio home, the road ahead will be much smoother. Also thanks go out to all my brand new stockist and those who have expressed interest in my label, you help to make the bus roll along

The second new line is called “Critters 4 Oscar” and is the resultant creation of my little sister’s repressed creative talent, which has only re-surfaced after the birth of her first child Oscar. The story behind this lines inception is as delightful as creations themselves. The line features a playful and vibrant collection of quirky home furnishings for nurseries thought to adult entertaining areas, these include wall hangings, mobiles, softies, garlands and cushions.

BUT WAIT THERE’S MORE...as previously mentioned we will also be releasing 2 Collections throughout the year. We are still working thought the formal details however it is most likely that the collections will be offered as an Autumn and a Spring release. The collections will feature OOAK designs and strictly limited edition pieces.

Well that’s about all for now, stay tuned for more details, pictures and releases dates of the above mentioned stock.

Take care, stay happy
