A sad Farewell to Summer..
So today we bid a sad farewell to the Summer that wasn't and usher in the new season of changing colours and falling leaves, it's time to take stock once again as we ready ourselves for another long cold winter ahead.
So the news man tells us that this was the coldest and wettest summer in 17 years. But despite the all rain which washed out many events and markets and the need for the heater to be turned back on, in fact it was never put away in the first place, for me this really was one of the best summer i've had.
I spent most of January road tripping up the east coat of Australia, staying in my tiny tent, spending my days opp shopping, bush walking, kyaking and even learnt how to scuba dive too. After almost 3 weeks and my my car all loaded up with vintage dress, fabrics and nic-nacs it was time to head home. My head full of inpirations and ideas i was ready to start another busy year.
This summer also brought in some changes to the business, our brand new homewares collection is taking shape with new buntings and funky cushion covers made from vintage fabrics being added to the website. There are new stockists and we are commiting to a full year of market this year.
There were parties and dinners, days out and even managed a trip or too to the beach to boot. I have also very been blessed this summer to have met some wonderful people and made many new friends, whilst reconnecting with old ones. I'm very much looking forward to the seasons ahead.
